History of Other Toku

Hey guys. As you can see, I have made improvements to the website. Anyways, I wanted to do another History of Toku segment where I just talk about the miscellaneous heroes. There are so many toku heroes out there that I just wanna talk about a couple. If you wanna learn about more toku heroes, here is the link: http://tokusatsu.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page, or go here, http://tokusatsuheroine.seesaa.net (You're welcome!). So, let's learn that there are other toku heroes other than Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai. Time to dig in.

Here is one example of another toku hero. Kikaider was a successful toku hero that he had a spinoff, Kikaider 01, an anime tv series and OVA, and a reboot, Kikaider Reboot. His archnemesis, Hakaider, even got his own movie in 1995, Mechanical Violator Hakaider. It was made by the late great Shotaro Ishinomori, known for his work on the manga Cyborg 009, Skullman, and for the creation of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.

Spider-Man (1978)
Here is another well known Toku series. In 1978, Toei made a contract with Marvel and gave birth to their own Spider-Man series, Spider-Man. Spider-Man is best known to have pilot the Leopardon, which bumped up the craze for Giant Robots in Japan. This would later reflect on the third Super Sentai series, Battle Fever J, as that series would be known for using the first Sentai robo in Sentai history.

Before I continue, Toei had another franchise in mind that only lasted for about 11 years. There most prominent one is La Belle Fille Masquee Poitrine, who was reincarnated in Movie War Ultimatum as well. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (2003)
Sailor Moon, which is considered one of the most popular anime of all time, ended up getting a live-action adaption, titled Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. If you haven't wondered, one of the actresses, Rika Izumi, who played Sailor Mercury, was the first Gravure Idol of the Week on my blog. 7 years later after Guyferd, Toho decided to make another tokusatsu hero series. They first started off with Chouseishin Gransazer, which was a huge success that spawned itself two more series. The second series is Genseishin Justirisers, and the third and last series is Chousei Kantai Sazer-X. Toho ended this prosperous series with a movie, Chousei Kantai Sazer-X the Movie: Fight! Star Warriors.

Madan Senki Ryukendo (2006)
The company known as Takara Tomy decided to get in the Toku fun and made their own tokusatsu series, Madan Senki Ryukendo. Suprisingly, this series was sponsored by the one and only Capcom.

EZ: Capcom?! Woo, I'm dying!

This series had a lot of gimmicks and power-ups that were only made to sell toys (One of the many reasons I love tokusatsu). At the time, a sequel series was rumored, but never came to reality.

Tomica Hero Series (2008-2009)
After Ryukendo ended, Takara Tomy produced another series known as Tomica Hero Rescue Force, a spiritual sequel to Ryukendo. Most people would say it is a cheap knockoff of Super Sentai, but it is actually a homage to Hyper Rescue and the Hyper Rescue toyline. It ended up getting a sequel, Tomica Hero Rescue Fire.
