Power Rangers Villain Lairs

Hey guys, what's up? Last time, I went over the HQs for the Rangers, now for the villains. Let's go over the terrifying, creepy lairs that villains across the Power Rangers timeline have lurked. Let's dig in.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Moon Palace (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)
This is were it all started. Ever since, Rita Repulsa would always look down at Earth with her telescope and come up with any evil scheme that would pop into her head. It has it's own comedic feel, but when he came, shit got real....

After numerous failures, Lord Zedd took the chain of command, and when he arrived, the lair got a new upgrade. It looked more menacing and threatening, especially with Zedd's throne in the middle. After MMPR ended, Zedd and Rita had to evacuate the Palace once the Machine Empire came.

Machine Palace (Power Rangers Zeo)
Ever since the Machine Empire took charge, they had their own base. They had more quantity than Rita and Zedd did, with all the ships and factories. Inside was the main room, where the Royal House of Gadgetry would plan.

Subcraft (Power Rangers Turbo)
Not gonna lie, this is probably one of my least favorite PR villain lairs. I just don't like how small it is and the fact that it's hiding underwater, in the Angel Grove Lake, where the Rangers can easily find it and attack. Luckily, they moved onto better things...

In Episode 26, Divatox moved the Subcraft to the Space Base, which was given to her by her brother, General Havoc.

Dark Fortress (Power Rangers In Space)
Serving as the homebase to Astronema, the Dark Fortress was pretty neat. I did like how gigantic it was, but the one thing that stood out to me was....why was it missing it's other half. Maybe it was trying to cloak itself from detection by Earth's government, but it's stock-footage from Megaranger, so what are you gonna do?

Scorpion Stinger (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
Ooh, the name itself strikes fear into anyone who comes across it. This is actually the first villain lair to be completely in CGI. I love on the outside how it is a scorpion with wings, but inside, it has an insect like feeling to it. In the finale, Journey's End, it was highly damaged by the self-destruction of the Astro Megaship, where it crash landed on the moon of the new planet, which turned out to be Miranoi.

Captain Mutiny's Castle (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
When Terra Venture entered the Lost Galaxy, Captain Mutiny came in to terrorize them. When he was first introduced, his castle was on the back of the Titanisaur, which laid dormant while being encased in stone. After the Titanisaur was destroyed, the castle was just on it's own. Once Terra Venture escaped the Lost Galaxy, the castle followed it, but was stop by Trakeena, where she used the Scorpion Stinger's pincers to crush it.

Skull Cavern (Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue)
In another dimension, the Skull Cavern served as the homebase for the Demons. It had it a creepy feel to it that it did justice serving as the villains' lair. I really did like the pillars and the fog on the ground, etc. In the finale, Fate of Lightspeed, the Skull Cavern made it's way to Mariner Bay, but after Queen Bansheera was defeated, the dreaded lair was turned to dust.

Cryo Prison (Power Rangers Time Force)
When Ransik escaped the Time Force, he used the Cryo Prison to travel back to the year 2001. There, he landed in a forest where he would hide. What I do like about the Cryo Prison is not the design, but the resources it gives Ransik. I like that it is a prison and instead of creating monsters or introducing monsters out of thin air, he would use the frozen criminals Time Force have captured and regenerate them, making them grow big.

Org Nexus (Power Rangers Wild Force)
Now I really like the Org Nexus. I really do like that it has a decrepit feeling to it that makes it so mysterious that you want to learn more about the Orgs, or in this case, Master Org himself. In the episode, Sealing the Nexus, the Org Nexus was destroyed when Master Org consumed the Org Heart.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Lothor's Lairship (Power Rangers Ninja Storm)
I pretty much love the inside of it, with the dark lighting feel, Lothor's throne and all the torches and stuff, neat. What I don't like about it is the ouside. What the hell is that? It's just a bunch of rocks meshed up together. In the finale, Calm Before the Storm, it self-destructed.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Mesogog's Island Fortress (Power Rangers Dino Thunder)
Now, this is pretty much my most favorite PR villain lair. I love how intimidating it is with it's scientific nature. I really love how these villains are scientific and nothing like the villains we've been getting before. In the finale, Thunder Struck, it was destroyed by the laser that Hayley used on the Triceramax Command Truck.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Terror Spacecraft (Power Rangers S.P.D.)
Okay, the Terror Spacecraft, in my opinion, just screams out aliens. I like the rocky scale of it on the outside and inside expands more of the alien features. I really do like the dark lighting it gives us. In the finale, Endings, it became the head for the Magnificence, which was controlled by Omni, who is the true leader of the Troobian Empire. The SPD Rangers were able to destroy Omni when Commander Cruger opened an access panel for them to shoot.

The Underworld (Power Rangers Mystic Force)
Ever since the Forces of Darkness were sealed away by the Mystic Titans, this is were they lurked. I really do love the design of the Underworld, it shows a place of darkness that has no hope nor salvation. The pit is pretty neat as well, with all the foot soldiers on the wall and the Master's eye in the middle of the pit. It was then destroyed by Leanbow in the Heir Apparent two-parter.

After the regular base was destroyed, Necrolai discovered the Chamber of the Ten Terrors, who would eventually become the main antagonists from that point. It got destroyed in the finale.

Now, much like with the mansion in Overdrive, the same goes for the lairs for the villains.

I don't know why, but these lairs are just boring to me. They have no interesting qualities to them. Now, why did I miss the Fear Cats, well, because, they didn't have a base. They just walked around in a forest. That's it.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Dai Shi Temple (Power Rangers Jungle Fury)
Now this is a huge step-up from the last villain lairs. I really like the mountain structure outside the temple, but on the inside, the throne room looks intimidating and commanding, where you walk up to Jarrod, you feel this intimidation. It got destroyed in the fight between Casey and Jarrod in the penultimate episode of Jungle Fury.

Venjix Palace (Power Rangers RPM)
OK, given that this series is an post-apocalyptic story, the villain lair sells it well. But the one thing that got me scratching my head was that on the outside was a steampunk-based factory, but in the interior, it's all cybernetic. Those two just don't fit well in my head.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Sanzu Boat (Power Rangers Samurai & Super Samurai)
This has got to be my second favorite villain lair. I really do like the laid back feeling of it and how it doesn't exaggerate itself, unlike past villain lairs. It sunk down the Sanzu River in the finale, Samurai Forever.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Warstar Spaceship
It's okay, I guess. It just doesn't have that much interesting qualities to it. It got destroyed in the episode, The Human Condition.

The Toxic Beasts had caves. yaaaaayy

Underwater Lab
This served as the HQ for the robots near the end of Megaforce. 1) How did Vrak build this all by himself, and 2) How long was it there? It was destroyed in Part 2 of Vrak is Back.
_________________________________________________________________________________

The Armada Horseship (Power Rangers Super Megaforce)
OK, despite how much I hate Megaforce, the villain lair in this was pretty decent. I do like how the fleet backs up the main ship, and that the main ship has two giant horse on the front of it. I got destroyed in the finale, Legendary Battle, where it crash landed.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Sledge's Spaceship (Power Rangers Dino Charge & Dino Supercharge)
I really do like how creative it is and more junkier and dirty. I really do love that the monsters are prisoners on his ship, given that he is a bounty hunter. It crash landed in the finale, One More Energem, but was then taken over by the next villain, Heckyl/Snide. Once Sledge returned, he was able to power it up and was able to fly back into space. I'm not going to talk about what happened in the finale and what succeeds it.

Warrior Dome (Power Rangers Ninja Steel & Super Ninja Steel)
The idea for Galaxy Warriors is pretty interesting, but execution just kills it. The inside is pretty alright, with all sorts of monsters in the crowd. My gripe is if it is located at the Earth's sky, how come the military can't detect it?
