Power Rangers Headquarters

Hey guys. What's up? today, I'm deciding to go over the headquarters in Power Rangers history, starting with the Rangers' homebase. So, let's take a walk down memory lane and visit these memorable locations.

Command Center (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)
This is where it all started, folks. Every 90s kid fell in love with this place with a snap (too soon?). So you all know the story how it happened. In the interior, I'm gonna be honest and say that it looks pretty bland to me, but it's understandable why. It does have that certain 90s feel to it mixed in with alien technology. I really do like the position of it, the circular consoles, the viewing globe in the back, and Zordon's energy tube in the front. It's also interesting to have all the glowing poles in the background.

In the 1995 movie, it had a new look, looking a lot more bigger and has it's own cinematic feel that respects the original design.

In the 2017 movie, it had a more better look, and it looked awesome, and I really do like the concept that it's hidden underground.

In the series finale of Mighty Morphin, the Command Center was destroyed. Seeing that chilling image of something we connected to, for over 3 years no less, blown up to a crisp. But that was an omen for things to come.

Power Chamber (Power Rangers Zeo/Power Rangers Turbo)
Once Zeo began, the Rangers found the Zeo Crystal under the rubble and the Command Center rebuilt itself, thus calling it the Power Chamber, with an entirely new interior, and this looks a lot better than the last one, since it has more room, and a lot more features to it.

Especially in the back, where there is a museum of the Mighty Morphin suits and weapons. It shows the legacy that they started and how they'll never be forgotten (You can thank the Neo-Saban Era for that).

By the time Turbo came, it changed it's look and the lighting was better this time. In the back, they changed the museum and made them look like colored tubes. Honestly, I liked that. In the finale, Chase into Space, it was stormed by Pirahnatrons and it was destroyed by Divatox's army. This time, there was no rebuilding it, but that paved the way......into space.

Astro Megaship (Power Rangers In Space/Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
What makes the Astro Megaship so unique is that it's the first homebase to also be a Megazord.

The inside makes it so unique it has it's own feel, since it's a spaceship. There's the bridge and many other rooms that does some great exploring on this ship. It was brought back in Lost Galaxy, where it was a museum for Terra Venture, but to save his friends, Kai uses the ship to reach Miranoi. This would eventually lead the Galaxy Rangers to use the ship on missions where they would travel to other planets if needed. In the finale, Journey's End, the ship would ultimately self-destruct to destroy Trakeena's Scorpion Stinger.

Lightspeed Aquabase (Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue)
This has probably got to be my most favorite headquarters in Power Rangers history. I mean think about it. It's a giant base underwater, what more can I ask for? It also has a Train Bay, where it can rise up from the sea and release the Rail Rescues, which carry the Zords. In the finale, the Aquabase was invaded by Batlings and also pilot the Life Force Megazord, where it destroys most of the base. Luckily, the Rangers were able to escape it using a submarine and destroy the Life Force Megazord.

Clock Tower (Power Rangers Time Force)
Regardless of how futuristic the Time Force Rangers' technology is, I really do like how that there base is old which gives Rangers from the future to be in an environment created in the past. In the three-part finale, End of Time, the Cyclobots storm the Clock Tower, being fended off by Wes and Eric. To stop it, Wes puts his Electro Booster on self destruct and they escape the base in the most badass way possible: they grab the rope holding the bell and JUMP OUT OF THE CLOCK AS THE TOWER EXPLODES!!!! Tell me one other that can top that.

Animarium (Power Rangers Wild Force)
3000 years ago, the Animarium was a peaceful land until the Orgs came to be and attacked. The Ancient Warriors fended off the Orgs, as one of them protected Princess Shayla and took her to the temple where she would sleep for an eternity. The warriors used their powers and sent the Animarium into the sky. It is also home to the Wild Zords, where the act like normal animals, and I do like when more Zords are revealed in the season, they come to the Animarium as well. In the two parter finale, End of the Power Rangers, Master Org destroys all of the Wild Zords and causes the Animarium to fall back to the ground. After the Rangers defeated Master Org, the Zords returned to the Animarium and was placed back into the sky.

Ninja Ops (Power Rangers Ninja Storm)
Now, when you pitch to me that your going to have a season of Power Rangers based on ninjas, this should better be the base you should have. Outside, protecting it's location, is a beautiful waterfall that's a good to balance a ninja's connection with nature. Inside, is the high tech Ninja Ops, which has a great dojo-esque design for training mixed in with technology. In the finale, Calm Before the Storm, Lothor, Marah, and Kapri finds it's location and destroy it.

Dino Cave (Power Rangers Dino Thunder)
What makes this headquarters so unique is that it's also someones house. I do like that it's hidden in a cave and you can reveal it's location just by pulling a dinosaur skeleton's jaw down. Inside, it's a really perfect balance between a cave and technology. In the finale, Thunder Struck, Zeltrax finds it's location and destroys it.

Delta Base (Power Rangers SPD)
This would be the second headquarters in Power Rangers history that would also change into a Megazord. On the outerior, it's a gigantic base with a dog head on the top and whenever the Rangers need their Zords, it would open up. Inside has all this high tech, futuristic design to it. It has many locations, like Kat's lab, the Rangers' rooms, the recreational room, and the command center. Though never destroyed, it was attacked by Broodwing and his army of Krybots, but was rebuilt in the aftermath.

Rootcore (Power Rangers Mystic Force)
Rootcore is a big tree where at the bottom, the entrance is shaped like a dragon's head, which is cool. Inside, it has a magical and fantasy feel that I love. It's completely made out of wood, which makes it look ancient. It has all sorts of props that make the place look magical, like the viewing globe, for example. In the finale, Mystic Fate, it was destroyed during the fight between Leanbow and Nick, who was possessed by the Master and became Koragg. It was rebuilt afterwards when we see Claire finally using magic right.

Hartford Mansion (Power Rangers Operation Overdrive)
This has got to be my least favorite headquarters in Power Rangers history. I just don't like that it's a mansion, it just feels so "deuschebag"-y. The underground basement is fine in my case. In the finale, Flurious finds the mansion and attacks it with his army of Chillers. It was rebuilt in the aftermath.

Jungle Karma Pizza (Power Rangers Jungle Fury)
Now, this is a huge step-up from the last headquarters. Jungle Karma Pizza feels laid back and welcoming. It's also cool that the Rangers themselves work there. Then, in the back, is the Loft, where the Rangers would chill out and train and play some basketball, while RJ sits on his chair, watching tv.
_________________________________________________________________________________

The Garage (Power Rangers RPM)
The Ranger Series Operators would have a garage where they would keep their vehicles and it would be their living quarters. In the back is the Ranger Control Room, where the Rangers' Suits are kept and where Doctor K would science stuff. In the finale, Danger or Destiny, it was destroyed by Venjix and Grinders, but rebuilt after Venjix's defeat.

Shiba House (Power Rangers Samurai)
The Shiba House was the living quarters for the Samurai Rangers. I like that it's japanese-based, with the giant doors and the dojo, but it feels insulting since none of the Rangers are Japanese. (Couldn't they have gotten an Asian actor to play Red, it would make sense).

Command Center (Power Rangers Megaforce)
Despite how much I hate this season, this is practically one of my favorite HQs. I really like that it's a cave, which gives it it's ancient feel and I do love the lights and the colored consoles. I also love the Ranger Keys on the wall, which are a good representation of the legacy these Rangers are apart of, but if the series actually did something with that, I would have liked it a lot better.

Dino Lab (Power Rangers Dino Charge)
Another favorite of mine, I really do love the cave aspect of it and that it has science technology to go with it. To enter it, they would pull down the tooth of a T-Rex head and go down a slide, entering the Dino Lab. They also have crystals where they keep their Energems. It was attacked by Snide in the penultimate episode, but rebuilt afterwards.

Mick's Workshop (Power Rangers Ninja Steel)
Now this might be my second least favorite HQ. What I don't like is that this team of Rangers are ninja themed, but it seems to lean more towards metalsmith-themed, though I do like seeing the process of making these stars. The location of the workshop is in the Summer Cove High School, which is where the Rangers attend.

For Beast Morphers, I am really excited to see what they come up with. Hope it looks all high tech given that their spys. So, what's your favorite HQ? Reply in the comments below. Next time, I'll be going over the villain lairs. Later.

  1. My favorites are the Astro Megaship, Aquabase, Delta Base, the Garage, and Dino Lab. I always like them to have a high-tech feel to them. Though I am partial to the impressive mystical aesthetic of Rootcore.
