Hey guys. Last time, I said I would go over the history of Kamen Rider, and I always keep my promises. So, let's dive in to the history of Kamen Rider.
Kamen Rider (1971-1973)
Created by Shotaro Ishinomori, the first installment of Kamen Rider was a big success in Japan. The show ran for 98 episodes, making it the longest Kamen Rider series ever.
Kamen Rider V3 (1973-1974)
This was the second series of the Showa Era and served as a sequel to Kamen Rider. The show ran for 52 episodes.
Kamen Rider X (1974)
This was the third series of the Showa Era. The show ran for 35 episodes.
Kamen Rider Amazon (1974)
This was the fourth series of the Showa Era. The show ran for 24 episodes, making it the shortest Kamen Rider series in both the Showa Era and overall.
Kamen Rider Stronger (1975-1976)
This was the fifth series of the Showa Era. The show ran for 39 episodes. The show even included a female heroine, Human Tackle.
Kamen Rider Skyrider (1979-1980)
This was the sixth series of the Showa Era after the four year hiatus. The show ran for 54 episodes.

Kamen Rider Super-1 (1980-1981)
This was the seventh series of the Showa Era. The show ran for 48 episodes.
Birth of the 10th! All Kamen Riders Together!! (1984)
Unlike the previous Kamen Riders, this was a 75-minute special that celebrated 10 years of the Kamen Rider franchise (even though they were 3 years late). This special also introduced a new Rider, Kamen Rider ZX, who is apparently a ninja Kamen Rider (He doesn't look like a ninja to me).
Kamen Rider Black (1987-1988)
This was the eighth series of the Showa Era after the six year hiatus. The show ran for 51 episodes.
Kamen Rider Black RX (1988-1989)
This was the ninth and last series of the Showa Era. The show ran for 47 episodes. It was also the first Kamen Rider series to be adapted into an American version, Saban's Masked Rider (which we should not speak off).
Shin Kamen Rider Prologue (1992), Kamen Rider ZO (1993), & Kamen Rider J (1994)
Five years later after Black RX, Toei made these three movies which were apart of the Showa Era. The first, Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue, was a movie that was aimed at an adult audience due to its content. The second, Kamen Rider ZO, was another movie that was not as violent as the first. The third and last movie, Kamen Rider J, had the first Rider to grow giant-sized.
Kamen Rider Kuuga (2000-2001)
Six years later after Kamen Rider J, Kamen Rider Kuuga hit the airwaves and was the first of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 49 episodes.
Kamen Rider Agito (2001-2002)
This was the second series of the Heisei Era, being an indirect sequel to Kamen Rider Kuuga and celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Kamen Rider. The show ran for 51 episodes.
Kamen Rider Ryuki (2002-2003)
This was the third series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 50 episodes. The show had a large amount of Riders (13 to be exact, but if you count the Alternatives then that is 15) and introduced the first female Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Femme. The show was then adapted into another Kamen Rider adaption 7 years later, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.
Kamen Rider 555 (2003-2004)
This was the fourth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 50 episodes.
Kamen Rider Blade (2004-2005)
This was the fifth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 49 episodes.
Kamen Rider Hibiki (2005-2006)
This was the sixth series of the Heisei Era. The show was a bit different from previous Rider series and ran for 48 episodes.
Kamen Rider Kabuto (2006-2007)
This was the seventh series of the Heisei Era, celebrating 35 years of Kamen Rider. The show ran for 49 episodes.
Kamen Rider Den-O (2007-2008)
This was the eighth series of the Heisei Era. The show was a big success in Japan and is one of the most popular Kamen Rider series ever. The show ran for 49 episodes.
Kamen Rider Kiva (2008-2009)
This was the ninth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 48 episodes.
Kamen Rider Decade (2009)
This was the tenth series of the Heisei Era, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of said era. The show ran for 31 episodes, making it the shortest Heisei Kamen Rider Series ever. Most people thought that Decade was one of the worst series ever, but others like it. I thought it was average when I gave the series a watch.
Kamen Rider W (2009-2010)
This was the eleventh series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 49 episodes. Like Den-O, Kamen Rider W was a pretty successive series.
Kamen Rider OOO (2010-2011)
This was the twelfth series of the Heisei Era . The show ran for 48 episodes.
Kamen Rider Fourze (2011-2012)
This was the thirteenth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 48 episodes.
Kamen Rider Wizard (2012-2013)
This was the fourteenth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 53 episodes, making it the longest in the Heisei Era.
Kamen Rider Gaim (2013-2014)
This was the fifteenth series of the Heisei Era, celebrating 15 years of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 47 episodes. The show also broke the record of Riders with a total amount of 20 Riders. This is also my most favorite Rider series.
Kamen Rider Drive (2014-2015)
This was the sixteenth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 48 episodes. The main Rider, Shinnosuke Tomari aka Kamen Rider Drive, was the first in the Heisei Era to not have a motorcycle as the main vehicle. Instead, he uses a car, known as the Tridoron.
Kamen Rider Ghost (2015-2016)
This was the seventeenth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 50 episodes.
Kamen Rider Ex-Aid (2016-2017)
This is the eighteenth series of the Heisei Era. The show ran for 45

Kamen Rider Zi-O (2018-2019)
This is the current, the twentieth and the last of the Heisei Era, overall, where it celebrates its 20th Anniversary.
